1. Wooden or custom hangers
Nothing is more distracting than a cheap plastic hanger when trying to capture the beautiful design of your wedding gown. Most brides spend thousands on their gown, let it be photographed with a gorgeous hanger! You don't have to go out and buy a customized hanger at all, but jut remember to have something other than the plastic hanger it came on. 2. LightingThe right lighting can do a few things: It can create a sense of intimacy in a large space, highlight décor elements you really want to take center stage, and make you and your guests look awesome in photos.
Decorative hanging lights, lamps with patterned shades or crystal chandeliers will transform a space from plain to extravagant. String lights can be used just about anywhere, whether it's to create a faux ceiling effect or connect a large reception space together
3. Designating a "photo wrangler."
Along with a shot list, designate a sister, brother, cousin or aunt who can be the photo wrangler. The photographer is not going to know who your important family members are, so when they gets to the 'photo of the bride with aunts and uncles,' your photo wrangler can easily go grab these family members for you and you can stay on track with timing.
4. Cocktail hour
If your ceremony site and reception site are in two different places and you're wanting detail images of the table placements before guests start sitting down, have a cocktail hour away from the dining area so the photographer can capture the tiny details you worked so hard on without the distraction of coats, purses, and extra drinks
When getting ready for your big day, make sure there is less clutter and more light to capture those cute shots of you and your bridesmaids getting ready and mingling before the ceremony.
6. Pipe and drape
Whether your covering up unwanted colorful backgrounds at your ceremony or casino reception walls, make sure to invest in pipe and drapes. This makes a huge difference when cutting out distractions during a beautiful photo op. While you may not notice it during your wedding day, it may be the only thing you can see in your wedding photos! Be sure to check out Evergreen Floral Shop & Events Co. for incredible pipe and drape!
7. Check the sunset timeThere's nothing worse than realizing your ceremony ends right at sunset and family photos run into the dark! If you opted out of a First look, that leaves the most important images of you two as Mr. & Mrs. to a halt. Check the sunset time and discuss the perfect time to schedule your wedding ceremony with your photographer.
8. Someone to serve your wedding cake
Whether it's the catering company, the cake artist, or a family friend, make sure you communicate beforehand that the cake will need to be cut and served! You spend hundreds of dollars on this delicious and gorgeous looking cake, you don't want to be left with half of it at the end of the night!
