Mariah contacted me this past March inquiring about a portrait session. Loving photographing couples, I had to know more! Engagements, anniversary, just because? Mariah's response was, "We're dating! Forever waiting on a ring!" I giggled and sent her a few dates to choose from that we could meet in my office and go over her session and vision in more detail. We had to postpone our meeting because they were headed to Mexico that following week. 5 days later, Mariah texts me, "Jk it's going to be engagement photos!!!" I was beyond excited to be in the loop of this epic love story! 

The Proposal

Marcus couldn’t have made our engagement any more special. This kid absolutely sucks at keeping secrets from me. That being said, I’m still in shock he hid the ring from me for close to six months. We were planning our trip to Mexico and he said we have to be in Utah by sunrise a day earlier then the day we flew out. Immediately my mind starts racing. Of course, proposal ran through my head. But that was just wishful thinking. I thought about what we could be doing at sunrise for weeks. I thought of a hot air balloon ride! And I was right! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t cooperating with his plans. Instead, he decided he would book a snowmobile trip in Park City, Utah. Finally, the morning comes! We were having breakfast at the hotel and he asks if I want to know what we are going to do? I said YES!! He says we are going snowmobiling! I’m immediately sad. For anyone who knows me, knows I hate the cold. Also, who can propose on snowmobiles!?! We get up to the cabin and while I’m getting dressing into a million layers he had his chance to go tell one of the directors he wants to propose. After a beautiful and fun day of riding around on snowmobiles, one of the directors takes us on top of this beautiful peak. Suddenly, he says he had just got a call and someone is stuck at the bottom and he would be right back. When I turned back around Marcus was on one knee asking me to marry him. I SAID YES!!
