Chance & Emily Moen - Intimate Wedding at 7th Canyon Ranch - Black Wedding Dress Wedding Inspiration
There is something especially meaningful about an intimate wedding day. With fewer distractions and more room for connection, every moment has space to breathe, slow down, and feel intentional.
Chance and Emily chose the beautiful setting of 7th Canyon Ranch for a celebration that felt deeply personal, emotional, and full of heart. Their wedding day was centered around what truly matters most — love, family, and genuine connection.
As an Elko wedding photographer, I love documenting weddings like this because they allow the story to unfold naturally. The little in-between moments, quiet emotions, and joyful laughter often become some of the most meaningful images from the entire day.
A Meaningful Setting for an Intimate Wedding
7th Canyon Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for Chance and Emily’s wedding day. The ranch offers such a beautiful setting for couples wanting an intimate wedding in northeastern Nevada, balancing natural beauty with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
One of the most unique touches at the ranch is their famous Beverage Ponies. Their sweet grandbabies led the ponies around carrying drinks for guests, and it was such a fun highlight of the day. The kids absolutely loved petting the ponies, and honestly, the adults did too. It added such a memorable and charming touch to an already beautiful celebration.
A Bride Who Broke Tradition Beautifully
One of the most unforgettable details from this wedding was Emily’s gown.
Instead of a traditional white dress, Emily chose a stunning black wedding gown from Candlelight Bridal, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Elegant, dramatic, timeless, and completely her.
I loved that she chose something that felt authentic to her rather than following tradition simply because it’s expected. The gown made such a statement while still feeling incredibly classic and beautiful.
The Moments That Mattered Most
One of the most emotional moments of the day was Emily’s first look with her dad, brother, and grandpa.
Watching their reactions as they saw her fully ready as a bride was incredibly moving. You could see the pride, love, and emotion written all over their faces. Moments like these are exactly why wedding photography matters so much — they become memories families will cherish forever.
After a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends, Chance and Emily shared something incredibly special: private vows.
Stepping away from everyone else for a few quiet moments together allowed them to fully be present with one another. There was something so beautiful about watching them slow down and speak from the heart without distraction. It felt intimate, emotional, and deeply meaningful — a reflection of the connection they share.
Photography That Feels Personal
My approach to wedding photography is centered around helping couples feel comfortable, supported, and fully present throughout their day.
I want my couples to feel relaxed enough to actually enjoy their wedding rather than feeling rushed or overly posed. That’s when the most meaningful images happen — the genuine smiles, the emotional embraces, the quiet glances, and the joyful laughter.
Chance and Emily’s wedding was filled with those kinds of moments.
